I believe healthy relationships are the key to happiness in life, but they can also be a source of our greatest pain. Whether you're a couple in a relationship crisis or an individual, I can help.

Specialty:

Whether it's help with a current situation or an old relationship that left a painful mark on your life, I work with individuals and couples who want to resolve issues, formulate healthy strategies, emotionally reconnect, understand each other, or simply find peace and understanding. Additionally I offer pre-marital counseling and I have been trained in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), an evidence-based trauma therapy.

Many people have struggles from the past that have resulted in current pain, depression, or anxiety. Often these can develop into symptoms that seem vague and difficult to define but they usually make themselves known in a variety of ways. As a result, life today can become very difficult to process on your own. - That's why I am here to help!

What will Sessions be like?

My approach acknowledges all of the unique influences in your life. You tell me what you want. I try to help you get there.

Finding out about you and where you've been is an important key to my process. Accepting you where you are now is just as important, and I meet you right there. We'll talk about what you're going through. Then we'll sort through your situation, on your terms. I'll challenge you, while always defaulting to your needs and goals.

This isn't always easy. But we'll do it together.

The key to any successful counselor-client involvement is rapport. Honestly, women are more likely to call counselors, but men are soon put at ease with the fact that I'm just a regular guy, here to help. Often, just calling me with questions about my approach to your situation can help anyone feel at ease with my process.

The rapport you have with any counselor is a critical ingredient for success!

Education and Background:

From Nebraska Wesleyan University I received my BA in Commercial Design and a Minor in Public Relations. In 2009, I earned a masters degree in counseling from Colorado Christian University and have been counseling ever since.

Twenty years ago, after working as a claims adjuster for several years, I decided to become a stay-at-home father – a choice I've never regretted. During that time I wrote a children's book and a screenplay, neither of which were published or produced. However, in recent years, I've written and published two novels: Walking Bridge and The Rewind.

My life experience, education, training, and perspectives give me the insight I need to help people find that new place they seek for their lives.
