Bio:

I was born and raised on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. I moved to the U.S. 9 years ago and pursued a career in therapy. I was an educator for over 16 years, and it felt like the most rewarding experience until I changed course to become a therapist. I hold a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology, specializing in clinical counseling from Capella University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University and practiced as a guidance counselor. I am currently licensed as an LPCC. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and teenagers, as well as adults and couples.

As a Black, Caribbean woman, I bring unique perspectives and experiences to my sessions. Because of my background, it allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level, as it makes it easier for me to remain objective. Our early experiences with the world play a significant role in the person we become. My goal is to help clients use those experiences and challenges to become the superheroes that they are. Using evidence-based practices and interventions, like CBT and DBT techniques, clients can unlock their hidden potential, and identify and manage negative thoughts, feelings, or emotions to become their true authentic selves.

I believe that when we can truly explore the life events or thoughts that hold us back, we can use them to propel us forward. The skills you will learn in therapy can be applied to all areas of life to help maintain a balance. What was designed to break you will be used as a stepping stone to a healthier, more balanced existence. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal for it is through healing we can make a greater impact on our world.

When I’m not a therapist, I’m a wife, a mom of two girls, and the best aunt on the planet. I enjoy reading murder mysteries or psychological thrillers, gaming, singing, crafting, and spending time with my family in the beautiful Colorado mountains (nothing beats the ocean though).
