Many people feel lost or broken at times, finding themselves trapped in negative cycles of thought and addiction. It's common to feel unrecognizable to oneself, disconnected from relationships or marriage, and spiritually frustrated. Such feelings and thoughts can disorient us from the beauty and truth around us, clouding our sense of purpose, worth, and identity. My main goal is to work alongside you to help you heal, reconnect, and find fulfillment in your life. I'm here to listen to your goals, and provide you with the tools and support you need to reframe your past, deal with your current struggles, and orient yourself toward a more vibrant future. This is my Mission.
My Approach:
First and foremost, the whole process is about you, and I hope to reflect that in the warmth and care of my service and advocacy. I would consider it an honor to provide you with the best resources and approaches to achieve your unique goals. My approaches generally are psychoeducational (engaging the head), narrative (engaging the heart), and experiential /grounding (engaging the whole self: head, heart, body, and spirit).
Education and Background
Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Denver Seminary
Bachelor of Science in Education, Arkansas State University
In 2020 I moved to Colorado to begin the clinical mental health counseling program at Denver Seminary, leaving my previous career teaching science and social studies in a middle school in Arkansas, where I am from. When I am not counseling, I can be found on a hiking trail, on the golf course, or attending one of the beautiful music-filled evenings at the Colorado Symphony. Many parts of Colorado are saturated in beauty and mystery, two things I heartily believe are vital to dote upon for a flourishing life. I aim to get out and experience it as often as possible, either in solitude or in community with friends and church family. Traveling and missions work are a large part of my life, impacting and shaping me in countless ways. Whenever there is an opportunity to drive or fly to serve or explore, I am always ready to go.
Specialty:
Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Relationships/Couples & Marriage, Spirituality/Faith concerns, Health/illness concerns, Life-transitions.
