Bio
I am happily married and incredibly grateful for my three wonderful children - a son and two daughters. This aspect of my life holds immense significance as it shapes my priorities: family and faith above all else. By placing these values at the forefront, I consistently strive for personal and professional growth. One of the ways I pursue this is by dedicating my career to assisting and educating others.
Throughout my adult life, I have been committed to the fields of teaching and helping. My journey has led me through various roles, including Monitor of Visitation, College Director, and Youth Leader at a church, Camp Counselor, Psychiatric Social Worker, and Professor of Psychology/Sociology at CCU and MSU. For more than a decade, I have had the privilege of co-owning Voyages Counseling alongside Matt Johnson. During this time, I have fulfilled the roles of Supervisor, CEO, and Therapist in this awesome Private Practice.
While my extensive work experience has significantly contributed to my growth and education, it is the invaluable lessons learned from real-life situations and hardships that have truly shaped me. These experiences will continue to serve as my greatest teachers as I pursue continuous personal and professional development.
Education
I earned my BA in Psychology at Biola University (2004) and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Vanguard University (2007). Most recently I completed my training in EMDR, and I continue to learn and stay up to date on current trends in this profession of helping others.
Specialty
Marriage, Affairs, Divorce, Re-Marriage, Couples, Intimacy, Premarital, Faith, Self-Esteem, EMDR/Trauma.
What to Expect
My style of counseling is direct, collaborative, and usually accompanied by humor and lots of laughs because life is hilarious.
Therapy is hard work, but who said it can't be fun?
