Being a caregiver of a child means putting on multiple hats, whether it be a teacher, nurse, coach, or entertainer.  Caring for a child who is struggling  may lead to grabbing as many hats as you can in an effort to support them or make them feel better. Wearing multiple hats is hard and can be exhausting. Trying to constantly choose the right one to wear often leads us asking ourselves “Are there more hats I need to try?” I look forward to supporting your child, your family, and you to address these struggles and to straighten out those hats.

My therapeutic style is rooted in a person-centered approach emphasizing the unique experiences and perspectives each person has. When working with a client, I reinforce a holistic understanding where we explore the connections between our mind, emotions, and body. I also stress the importance of the connection between the relationships and experiences we have as children and the ways they can greatly influence how we relate and interact with others as adults. In my work, I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship that allows you as the client to feel supported, validated, and understood.

I am passionate about supporting clients in managing and understanding their unique struggles and experiences. I have experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults who need support in various settings. I understand it can sometimes be hard or even impossible to find the words to describe one’s experience. Because of this, I employ expressive and creative therapeutic techniques in sessions to allow my clients to feel free to explore and understand how their experiences impact them.

Education and Background:

My passion for working with children led me to pursue a degree in the helping profession. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on Sociology from Indiana Wesleyan University. Following my graduation, I decided to further my education and gain additional experience working with diverse populations and cultures and trauma experiences through the International Disaster Psychology program at the University of Denver. I graduated with my Masters of Art in International Disaster Psychology from the University of Denver to accomplish my goal.

Outside of the therapy room, I spend my time exploring nature with my two energetic and sweet dogs. I also enjoy tackling a 1,000+ piece puzzle, baking treats for my friends and family, or restoring furniture. I love the idea of bringing things together, like seeing puzzle pieces create a gorgeous sunset or combining ingredients to make a loaf of banana bread.

Being able to see the end result of my hobbies reminds me that we all have pieces and ingredients that make up our unique and vibrant selves.
