I specialize in working with individuals and families who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, communication problems, relationship conflict, trauma or pain, or unhealthy coping and behavior. Through a relational and client-centered approach my goal is to help each person I meet to build strong relationships, develop more effective communication, enhance their ability to manage conflict, and work towards a greater ability to cope in a healthy way that allows them to grow. I’ve been blessed to work with all different types of communities, individuals and challenges and therefore look at each person’s situation uniquely as I believe everyone is different and their challenges are unique to them.
What will sessions be like?
I believe that our lives are influenced by our immediate surroundings as well as our interactions with others. At the forefront of providing help I take a collaborative approach through creating a safe place where people can share and explore difficulties, and work towards experiencing relief, growth, and learning tools to attain greater peace. As our experiences and interactions with others shape a lot of who we are, past trauma or pain or current behaviors or relationships can keep us responding in unworkable and harmful ways. Through learning new ways of responding and healthy ways of coping we can experience a greater amount of joy and peace in life. Working towards personal mental health goals is an active process and one that can provide valuable life change. A quote that incapsulates our growth process and betterment was once said by Beverly Sills: “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

My husband and I have been happily married for 8 years and have three little boys. We love Colorado and enjoy spending our time outdoors and being in nature. Life is very busy with our kids and some times very messy! Navigating through the small things and big things in life, and teaching our children strong values is paramount to my husband and I. One thing my husband and I find ourselves saying to our children is that we make mistakes too. It is through our mistakes and experiences that we learn, we can rework poor decision making, and bring some laughter and fun into the process of growing.
What you’ll experience in therapy with me is that I personally practice what I recommend to others, and I believe that we are all in the process of growing, refining, and learning from our experiences.
