Specialty:

I see life like a tube of glitter. Once you unscrew the lid, it inevitably gets messy. But in the mess there is also beauty and laughter and fun; it just takes the risk of opening the lid to find it. This is truly is the process of change and growth, and I look forward to walking it with you.

My passion is in working with and helping women, adolescence, those with struggles in self-esteem, with relationship concerns, and general family struggles. Through a supportive relationship I help create a safe and authentic environment to better navigate the many unique difficulties life can provide. My goal is to help develop greater awareness as we explore your struggles, and work towards making the kind of changes that are needed for a better life.

What will sessions be like?

I want my clients to walk away knowing who I am as a person and not just as a therapist. With that being said, I strive to always be authentic. I find myself connecting with others through humor and laughter and I enjoy bringing those aspects into sessions. My main goal while working with clients is to build a trusting relationship where people can enter my office and feel safe. I support clients in gaining insight and awareness on their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I believe that understanding what has influenced our current path in life leads to having empathy for ourselves and, thus, an opportunity to make changes. I am passionate about supporting others while they grow into the highest functioning individual they can be. My approach is one of balance. I allow my clients to lead and  bring into session what they need to, while at other times I take on a more directive role in order to challenge my clients toward movement and growth.

Other Specialties:

In addition to working with women and adolescents, I am passionate about working with their families. Each family is unique and working with one’s family can support change not only within the individual, but within the relationships of the family system. I have specific training in working with families experiencing trauma, conflict, and families that have adolescents who are engaging in high-risk behaviors. Additionally, I enjoy working with couples, strengthening their intimate relationship and/or parenting skills. Parents are the backbone of families, and children greatly benefit when their caregivers are working together and engaging in positive interactions.

I have over four years of experience providing in-home family therapy. This setting provides clients the opportunity for individual and family dynamics to be fully experienced in the therapy session, and the convenience of being in your own home. I offer in-home family therapy at an additional fee throughout Stapleton and the surrounding neighborhoods. Feel free to contact me for more details.

My training and experience has also allowed me to successfully work with the following issues:

  • Relationships

  • Self-Esteem and Confidence

  • Managing Emotions

  • Communication Skills

  • Resolving Family Conflict

  • Parenting Skills

  • Co-Parenting with Blended and Divorced Families

  • Couples

Education and Background:

I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts in both Psychology and Communications from University of Northern Colorado; and my Master’s of Arts in Clinical Counseling: Couples and Family Therapy from University of Northern Colorado. I am currently practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate in pursuit of licensure.

I don’t take life too seriously. My priorities in life are laughing and making memories with my family and close friends. Some of my most enjoyable activities are playing recreational sports, going to local festivals, and getting consumed in science fiction books! I am a proud auntie and mother of a fur-baby, Callie, and have my eyes set on adopting a mini pot belly pig. Volleyball has always been a huge part of my life and ultimately led to me playing collegiate volleyball. That time in my life was a time of growth, failures and successes, and building lifelong relationships. Although, my days of competitive volleyball have passed, I will never turn down the opportunity to play the sport I love!
